Candlewood Lake - Candlewood Lake, a year-round recreational hotspot, draws tourists especially during the summer for activities such as swimming, fishing, boating, and golfing. Spanning approximately 60 miles (97 km) of shoreline, the lake is surrounded by tourist resorts and recreational facilities, including golf courses, beaches, and marinas.

Candlewood Lake, spanning 8.4 square miles (22 km²), holds the title of Connecticut's largest lake and is the largest lake in the New York Metropolitan Area. Over a century ago, it was created as a hydroelectric facility. The lake draws its water from the Housatonic River and stores it until needed to meet demand. Power is generated by turbines spun by the flowing water, and pumping is achieved by reversing the impellers. The water descends 230 feet—42 feet taller than Niagara Falls—to produce energy.

Housatonic River Brewing - They brew all their beers on-site in their 5 BBL Brewhouse for visitors to enjoy onsite.
